RAK Ceramics Sponsors International Day of Yoga

RAK Ceramics PJSC, one of the largest ceramics’ brands in the world, sponsored an International Day of Yoga.

Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, 26th June 2017 – RAK Ceramics PJSC, one of the largest ceramics’ brands in the world, sponsored an International Day of Yoga which took place at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah on Wednesday 21st June.

The event was one of many taking place worldwide to celebrate International Yoga Day. Around 30 RAK Ceramics employees took part in the Ras Al Khaimah event including our Chief Human Resources Officer, Mr. Pradeep Pande alongside special guest, Mr. Shri Vipul, Consul General of India, Dubai.

Yoga is known to have many positive health benefits, both mentally and physically, and we were delighted to be able to support this community event on such an important day.”

International Yoga Day was first celebrated in June 2015 following a unanimous declaration by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on 11 December 2014. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, proposed the idea of having a worldwide celebration. The 21 June was chosen as the annual date as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares special significance in many parts of the world.
