RAK Ceramics Welcomes HRH Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg
Leading ceramics company hosts royal visit
Ras Al Khamiah, UAE, 12th October 2017 – RAK Ceramics PJSC (Ticker: RAKCEC: Abu Dhabi), one of the leading ceramics’ brands in the world, today welcomed his Highness Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg and her Royal Highness Princess Stéphanie, Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg. The royal party was accompanied by Her Excellency, Mrs Elisabeth Cardoso Jordao, Ambassador for Luxembourg.
Following a tour of RAK Ceramics’ manufacturing facilities, the Prince and Princess heard from Group CEO Abdallah Massaad how RAK Porcelain and Luxembourg have enjoyed a long and successful partnership and the company’s plans for the future.
Group CEO Abdallah Massaad said, “Luxembourg has been extremely welcoming towards us and this partnership shows us all that if we open our minds to new possibilities, new ideas and new ways of working, we can create more opportunities for our people, employees and businesses both in the United Arab Emirates and in Luxembourg. The success we have enjoyed shows that when like-minded people come together, great things can be achieved.”
Mr Massaad went on to say, “We are entering a new and exciting period in the history of RAK Porcelain, and I am pleased to announce that we are further strengthening our operations in Luxembourg with an investment of €7 million euros. This investment will to be used to strengthen our operations and we have already begun to build a new state-of-the-art warehouse facility and offices. We are also assigning funds to develop a completely new retail experience for our customers. All due for completion next year. It is my sincere hope that this investment will create jobs, opportunities for growth, and further strengthen the unique bond between us.”
RAK Porcelain launched its Luxembourg operation in 2006 and currently employs 58 staff there. Last year RAK Porcelain participated in the new Luxembourg nation branding which was launched in October 2016 providing first class products in tableware with the new nation brand logo which are supplied to many government departments. RAK Porcelain also supplies all high schools in Luxembourg as well the new University Campus in Esch Belval with customised porcelain items.
