RAK Ceramics, one of the world’s leading lifestyle ceramics brands, has published its Sustainability Report 2025, outlining the company’s progress across environmental, social, and governance priorities, while reinforcing its long-term commitment under the 2024–2030 Sustainability Strategy.
Structured around four strategic pillars—Environmental Responsibility, People & Community, Governance & Best Practices, and Responsible Business & Employer—the report reflects how sustainability continues to shape RAK Ceramics’ operations, innovation, and growth across the UAE and beyond.
Throughout 2025, the Group achieved significant milestones in resource efficiency and responsible manufacturing. A key highlight was the recycling of 95% of waste across its Tiles, Sanitaryware, Faucets, and Tableware segments, alongside the management of more than 75,000 tonnes of non-hazardous waste through recycling and reuse initiatives.
In a major step towards decarbonisation, RAK Ceramics launched the UAE’s first industrial carbon recovery and reuse facility in partnership with Gulf Cryo. The facility captures approximately 17,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually, converting emissions into food-grade CO₂ for use across multiple industries.
The year also saw the introduction of Continua+, a next-generation manufacturing technology that enhances efficiency in the production of large-format porcelain slabs while reducing energy consumption and optimising raw material use. Further strengthening its environmental performance, the company achieved full utilisation of its Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), reinforcing its commitment to water stewardship.
Across its core business segments, RAK Ceramics continued to advance circular manufacturing practices. In the Tiles segment, 95–98% of key materials were recycled, alongside the introduction of Re-Use Quartz and Re-Use Minerals using 100% pre-consumer recycled materials. The Sanitaryware division recorded energy savings of 569,000 kWh, while maintaining 100% recycling of green rejects. In Faucets, all components were reused, contributing to water savings, and the Tableware segment achieved 100% wastewater recycling while reducing energy consumption by 13%.
RAK Ceramics’ efforts were recognised through several prestigious industry awards, including the ICV Excellence Award at the Make it in the Emirates Awards, the EcoLabel Award from the RAK Environmental Protection & Development Authority (EPDA), and recognition at the MENA Green Building Awards.
The company also maintained a strong focus on workplace safety, recording zero fatalities across its workforce of more than 7,000 employees, supported by enhanced safety protocols and continuous operational improvements.
Beyond operations, RAK Ceramics continued to invest in people and communities. The Group remains committed to supporting the UAE’s Emiratisation agenda, contributing to the development of national talent. It also delivered a range of environmental and community initiatives, including clean-up campaigns, tree planting, and mangrove restoration projects in collaboration with partners such as the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) and the RAK Environmental Protection & Development Authority (EPDA). In addition, the company supports youth development and knowledge exchange through partnerships with the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research.
Commenting on the report, Abdallah Massaad, Group CEO of RAK Ceramics, said:
“As a UAE-headquartered global manufacturer, we embed sustainability across our operations, with a focus on improving efficiency, advancing responsible manufacturing, and optimising resource use. Our approach is aligned with the UAE’s broader industrial and economic priorities.”
He added: “Looking ahead, we will continue to scale innovation across materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes to enhance performance and resource efficiency, enabling the delivery of more sustainable, high-quality solutions while creating long-term value for our stakeholders.”
