Innovation Week Ends with Great Success for Maximus Mega Slab
Ras Al Khaimah, 25 November 2015
RAK Ceramics fosters technology and is one of the largest supporters for innovation initiatives in the UAE
RAK Ceramics, one of the world’s largest hi-tech manufacturers of lifestyle ceramics solutions, successfully ended a three days showcasing of their recently launched giant tile measuring 1.5 X 3 meters, Maximus Mega Slab at the RAK Expo between 24-26 November. The event is part of the UAE Innovation Week and was organised by the Sheikh Saqr Program for Government Excellence in collaboration with the RAK Department for Economic Development.
The Maximus Mega Slab is RAK Ceramic’s latest manufacturing advancement designed to expand the company’s offerings across a wider variety of interior and exterior finishing options. In particular, the aesthetic tiles are innovated in a manner which allows the RAK Ceramics to compete against traditionally popular surfacing items for kitchens, bathrooms, commercial or residential space such as natural stone or granite, grabbing market share.
Abdallah Massaad, RAK Ceramics CEO, said: “We recognise the central role innovation plays in diversifying economies and adding value to industries, thus allowing them to thrive. Investing in innovative products has been one of our major focuses and the Maximus Mega Slab is a successful result of that process. Developing products and services for the post-oil dominated market, which the UAE is preparing for, will help create sustainable wealth for the economy and this will help us be better prepared to capitalise on future opportunities. For this reason, we whole-heartedly support the vision behind the UAE Innovation Week and seek to have an active participation in this initiative.”
RAK is a pioneer in introducing hi-tech innovations including digital technology, slabs, anti-bacterial, glow in the dark, double charge, roll feed and water jet designs in addition to robotic glazing techniques, wide body products and high pressure casting with bathware. The Maximus tile was launched this year at the Cevisama Exhibition, one of the largest international exhibitions in the ceramic tiles, sanitaryware and natural stones industry, in Spain.
